Copyright issues

I often get asked about copyrighted content. Here is an explanation:

A copyrighted file is one that someone has the rights for. Which means that they have either created it themselves or have been granted the rights to publish (copy) it.

For example, a user uploads a portrait of himself. Then he has the (copy)rights for his/her own image and if you copy it without permission, you are violating copyrights and may face legal issues.

With games and downloads, these are mostly being sold for money by companies to finance the costs of development. Therefore, if you publish them for free, you violate copyrights as well.

And so on...

The problem is that we cannot know at Peperoni which files/pictures are copyrighted and if the user that uploads them has the permission to do so. And we cannot review every single uploaded item. Therefore, some copyrighted content may appear although it shouldn’t.

Please always make sure that you do not violate the rights of others when publishing anything on peperonity. If the rights holders approach us to have something removed and they enforce legal action, you can get into big trouble. It’s so easy to be creative and publish something that you may so go ahead and check your page(s) for any possible infringement and take it out if necessary.

If you spot content on peperonity that you feel is yours and shouldn't be published elsewhere, always contact the SITE OWNER first to have it removed. When talking to us, you MUST give proof that the content is yours as otherwise we cannot help you out. It is up to you to seek legal advice on this if you feel that your copyrights are violated.

This text is NOT to be seen as legal advice or in any way binding, it's just my view and explanation!

Happy uploading!
